Recover from Pain and Injury

When we have pain or an injury, the tricky part is finding the best possible treatment to fix the damaged tissue. In some cases, doctors recommend surgery and in other cases, there is nothing that can be done but to deal with long-term pain such as in the case of arthritis.

This is no longer the case. PRP Therapy provides a non-surgical way to correct chronic pain and complex injuries without surgery. Using PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, it is possible to repair tissue damage that was once considered untreatable.

Athlete’s like Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez turn to PRP Therapy to regain the mobility they need to play. For athletes, a PRP injection is a way to quickly return to one’s sport after an injury, organically accelerating tissue repair. It can help to relieve the chronic pain of an older injury as well.

Dr. Benjamin Bieber is a Sports Medicine physician for over 30 years and has helped patients across the world fix complex injuries with PRP Therapy. After treating tens of thousands of patients, Dr. Bieber believes PRP Therapy to be the best non-surgical treatment to date.

What Is PRP Therapy?

PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, is an organic material created in our office to help stimulate the regrowth of new healthy tissue and restore damaged tissue that is the primary cause of one's pain and injury. After PRP Therapy, patients are surprised and amazed at the difference they feel as most experience a drastic decrease in pain and a fluid increase in the area's mobility.

Platelets (of PRP) are found in the blood and have a specific role in the body, which is to repair blood vessel damage. When an area of the body is damaged, platelets, a colorless blood cell, are signaled to gather at the site of damage and begin repair. Platelets are how the blood clots and the skins begin to heal after a cut.

In our PRP, an additional 30 growth factors are activated contributing to the repair of an injury and helps heal damaged tissue for even many months after the injection is administered.

Process:

First, you will schedule an initial consultation with Dr. Bieber. Here, Dr. Bieber will examine your full history and get a good understanding of how to apply PRP to your current injury. On your next appointment, Dr. Bieber will administer the PRP injection.

During treatment, a sample of blood is drawn from the patient. This blood is spun in a centrifuge machine to separate the platelets from all other blood cells. The platelets, once separated, are spun again to create a dense, platelet-rich plasma. This plasma is an organic material injected into the area of injury and then you are finished!

There are no hospital visits or overnight stays. After the injection, the PRP is signaled by the injury to begin repair of the tissue damage. In more severe cases, a second PRP injection may be necessary.
