What is Erectile Dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED) can refer to a total inability to achieve an erection, firm enough for sexual intercourse, an inconsistent ability to do so, or a tendency to sustain only brief erections. These variations make defining ED and estimating its incidence difficult. In older men, ED usually has an underlying physical cause, such as disease, injury, or side effects of drugs. Any disorder that causes injury to the nerves or impairs blood flow in the penis has the potential to cause ED. Incidence increases with age; about 5 percent of 40-year-old men and between 15 and 25 percent of 65-year-old men experience ED. However, it is not an inevitable part of aging.
Is Erectile Dysfunction Treatable?
ED is treatable, irrespective of age, and awareness of this fact has been growing. More men have been seeking help and returning to normal sexual activity because of improved, successful treatment of ED. Erectile dysfunction can be treated by conservative (non-surgical) methods or surgical methods.
Avoid Invasive Surgery With PRP Treatment For Erectile Dysfunction
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Penile Rejuvenation
PRP penile rejuvenation is a procedure designed to deliver lasting improvements in sexual performance to men. This safe and effective procedure has been shown to be a potential treatment option for those men who are having erectile dysfunction due to prostate issues, surgical side effects, drug side effects, Peyronie’s disease, or other medical conditions such as hypertension or diabetes.
Understanding the PRP Penile Rejuvenation Procedure
The treatment involves numbing the area to minimize any discomfort and carefully administering the patient’s own platelet-rich plasma into the area of concern with a syringe. The PRP concentrates platelets and bioactive proteins, which release growth factors to stimulate cellular regeneration and accelerate tissue repair. There is little to no downtime needed after this procedure.
